The refurbishment of the gym is scheduled to be completed in September 2022. There will be a period of time where the gym will be closed to allow us to complete the removal of old equipment, decoration and installation of new machines and equipment. We will keep disruption during this time to a minimum.

During the period of refurbishment, the rest of the centre will remain open with access to strength training equipment in the eGym, enhanced class timetable and swimming pool sessions.

What equipment are you putting into the gym?

We will be replacing all existing equipment with Matrix cardio and resistance machines. In addition, there will be a free weights area with Olympic platform and a functional boxing area.  The team have taken into consideration current equipment and environmental factors and liaised with industry professionals to provide a functional gym for all users.

Why do you have to close the gym?

To ensure that we can safely remove the old equipment, prepare the floor, decorate and install the new equipment we need to keep the gym closed. We aim to do this in the shortest time possible.

How long will the gym be closed?

We anticipate that the gym will be closed for a period of approximately three-four weeks based on the work schedule. The exact timing will be confirmed, but is subject to change.

I only use the gym? Where can I workout?

All existing members can continue their strength training in the eGym. If you haven’t used the equipment previously. please speak to a member of the fitness or reception team as you will need to be set up to use the equipment for the first time, you will be entitled to a free induction to set up the machinery so it works for your specific requirements.

All existing fitness members will be able to access the gyms at both Furzefield Leisure Centre, Potters Bar and Bushey Grove Leisure Centre, Bushey during the period of time that the gym has to be closed. As a thank you, you will also be entitled to use the Thermal Spa at both locations during the closure.

What other facilities can I use while the gym is closed?

We will be adding to our class timetable to add additional weekly sessions. In addition, we have the Stages Flight studio with instructor-led and virtual classes available throughout the week. Plus our pool is open seven days a week for a variety of sessions. Fitness members will also have access to the gyms at Furzefield Leisure Centre and Bushey Grove Leisure Centre.

What about my membership fee while the gym is closed?

InspireAll Leisure & Family Support Services is a registered charity and relies heavily on membership fees to operate. Therefore we won’t be adjusting membership fees, instead, during this time we will be providing members with enhanced services in other areas of the centre to compensate the gym being closed. This will include;
