Timescales

The refurbishment of the gym is scheduled to take place in September 2022. The gym will be closed from 10pm Wednesday 7th September, we expect to reopen the gym on Saturday 1st October 2022. This closure will allow us to complete the removal of the old equipment, carry out works to prepare the floor and decorate, install new air-conditioning and the new machines and equipment. We will keep disruption during this time to a minimum.

During the period of refurbishment, the rest of the centre will remain open with access to strength training equipment in the eGym, enhanced class timetable and swimming pool sessions.

If you haven’t used our eGym previously you will need to book an induction before your first visit.

Indoor Cycling

We will be offering additional Stages Flight, indoor cycling classes, perfect for a cardio workout. There are instructor led and virtual classes available. Please view the class timetable online for the latest information.

Cardio Equipment

There will be a small number of cardio machines available in the foyer / reception area of the centre that will be available for members to use during the gym closure. Please book in with our reception team as you would do for using the gym.

Swimming

Swimming is a great form of exercise, it offers an all-body workout, using all the muscles in the body. Not only can swimming help improve and maintain your fitness level, it has lots of other benefits, including improving mental health.  Swimming can exercise a group of muscles you wouldn’t have known you had if you only used a gym. You can reach the same intensity of workout with minimal strain on your muscles.

Gyms at Bushey Grove Leisure Centre & Furzefield Leisure Centre

Whilst we hope you will try one of the alternative options, we have available at The Venue, we appreciate you may be missing a gym workout. We have fully equipped gyms at our sister sites.
